CEFE defines three distinct levels of certification. Altogether they reflect the career steps that a CEFE trainer can make.
LEVEL 1 – LOCAL CERTIFICATES
The lead trainer confirms that the applicant has successfully participated in a CEFE ToT and coaching process. The certificate can be issued by:
The local organisation responsible for ToT and coaching; the design and price depend on this organisation.

LEVEL 2 AND 3 – NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATES
CEFE National and International Certificates of Professional Competence are only issued by CEFE International for CEFE Advisers and Trainers who have agreed to abide by the International Code of Conduct (see below):
CEFE trainers and advisers with experience can apply for level 2 and 3. They will be evaluated by a CEFE International Certificate holder, using a specific form with defined criteria. Depending on the applicant’s performance and score he/she will be assigned to one of the categories explained below.
Design: 170g highest quality security paper, exclusively produced for CEFE International with
CEFE International as water mark,
A special adornment frame,
A copy protection (water mark “original” turns into black “copy” when copied),
Stamped and signed by CEFE International, see example (link)
Validity: 2 years
Price: only available for CEFE members; 80 € for two years
LEVEL 2 – NATIONAL CERTIFICATE Certificate for National CEFE Trainer: for experienced trainers with more a score of more than 50 and without international experience. Certificate for National CEFE SENIOR Trainer: for well experienced trainers with a score of more than 100 and without international experience
LEVEL 3 – INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE
Certificate for International CEFE Trainer and Advisor: for experienced trainers with a score of more than 50 and with relevant international experience. Certificate for International CEFE SENIOR Trainer and Advisor: for well experienced trainers with a score of more than 100 and relevant international experience. Certificate for International CEFE CHIEF Trainer and Advisor: for outstanding trainers with a score of more than 200 and relevant international experience.
CEFE INTERNATIONAL CODE OF CONDUCT
Promote the CEFE model by stressing its inherent qualities rather than criticising other models
Contribute to and share ideas, best practices and innovations with the CEFE community
Ensure cultural adaptation and gender orientation
Base your work on the needs of your target group
Exercise utmost professionalism and ethics including to respect intellectual property rights
Be committed to the CEFE concept and its continuous improvement and further application according to the demand of your target group
Facilitate the change process
Actively link CEFE activities with the given environment
Be committed to the development of national and regional institutions to conduct CEFE
Aim to establish market-driven mechanisms and market-related prices for training needs and demand of the target group
Aim to prevent market distortions through government- or project-sponsored competition
Be result-oriented in a cost-effective way.
